Vision Éternel Photo Shoot On Saint Helen’s Island
Tonight we went out to film a video for Vision Éternel, to introduce the new EP, “The Last Great Torch Song“. While out on location, our photographer Jeremy Roux decided to shoot a few pictures. Jeremy has worked several times with Alexandre Julien over the years, including the first Vision Éternel photo shoot a year and a half ago in September of 2010 in the Old Port of Montreal. So it was obvious that he would do an excellent job this time around as well. Tonight, we went out to Saint Helen’s Island, a man-built island between Montreal and the South Shore which has a gorgeous historical building, originally built as a dance hall and casino in the 1920’s. This building has since been transformed to hold the foundation of the Montreal Harbour Bridge.
There was a perfect amount of fog this evening as the winter struggled to fight the oncoming spring. The photos are unmistakably film noir-influenced, a genre that has always been true to Vision Éternel’s heart and vision. This time, the Alfred Hitchcock film “Vertigo” was a strong influence in the look that we were going for in the pictures. Think of the last scene in the movie, when James Stewart looks out from the church tower. These photos will be used to promote “The Last Great Torch Song” through out 2012.
